My father was a green beret in Nam and worked with the Cambodian montagnards. He recently passed and we have been going through his things and I came across these patches. Does anyone have any info on them? Also attaching pic of his beret.

thank you

The patches in your third photo are from Vietnam from the period around 1958.  These were embroidered on a wool felt, and did not stand up to the climate very well.  These are very hard to find.

The liner in the beret was worn as a scarf by members of the 3rd MF.  We had a few of the guys stop by while on patrol and they were wearing the scarf.  When I arrived at Camp Duc Hua someone placed a 3rd MF scarf around the mailbox and was still there when I left in September 1969.

I have been having quite a few people interested in these things. I am definitely keeping his beret but the patches are something I am willing to sell. I just have no idea on a price.
