45govt Posted December 4, 2021 #1 Posted December 4, 2021 A new addition to the collection to go with the reloading kit
Tom Trevor Posted December 4, 2021 #2 Posted December 4, 2021 What a rare and great set of tools for your collection.
Gbrown1 Posted December 7, 2021 #4 Posted December 7, 2021 What a great find and in super condition. Goes great with the 1883 reloading kit.
45govt Posted December 9, 2021 Author #5 Posted December 9, 2021 Hello All Thanks for the nice comments. Here is another tool to go along with the above. I wish it was US marked but it does have the modifications Green requested, ie: the holes drilled in the die to release the excess grease
GWS Posted December 9, 2021 #6 Posted December 9, 2021 Very nice and complete set! Love that powder measure! Looks like you're all set to do some reloading! Were the "tong" tools (bottom pic) made by commercial mfgs. for the military or did the arsenals make them also? I've got a similar tool made by Ideal Mfg. Co. for 45 Gov. that also has a 405grain bullet mold attached which were commercially available at that time period. Thanks. Steve
Dave Posted December 9, 2021 #7 Posted December 9, 2021 That is really cool! Had a chance to go to a wedding at the Benicia Arsenal a few years back. Really cool place! Dave
45govt Posted December 10, 2021 Author #8 Posted December 10, 2021 Hello GWS The one pictured was a Winchester tool The Government settled on their own tools
ponyradish Posted July 31, 2025 #9 Posted July 31, 2025 I have a charge just like the one pictured. Same arsenal, same date. Any idea of value?
Tom Trevor Posted August 4, 2025 #10 Posted August 4, 2025 Its an old post but you need bullets and primers to finish reloading the shells.
