collectsmedals Posted November 30, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2021 This is the grave marker for my Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather Captain Walter Deane. The marker reads as follows: Capt. Walter Deane 1751 - 1814 13 Mass. Continental Regt. Original Member of the Society of the Cincinnati, the other side of the marker reads, With Washington at Valley Forge, Monmouth, White Plains, Brandywine, Trenton, Saratoga, The Siege of Yorktown and Surrender of Cornwallis. FriarChuck Posted December 1, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 1, 2021 Very cool family history Collectsmedals. Are you a member of the Society of Cincinnati with your direct lineage? Friar
collectsmedals Posted December 1, 2021 Share #5 Posted December 1, 2021 Thank you. I am not a member of the Society of the Cincinnati, the Society only allows one current member for each original member and a distant uncle in a different branch of the family has that honor.
