Hello

I picked this CIB up with a small group from a US vet from the 86th Inf Division.  It came with collar tabs, and patches, including a Green back 86th Inf patch.   A number of other items we included as well.  Anyway, this CIB has no maker marked, but is marked sterling.  The clutchbacks are marked sterling without bumps.  I measured the length of the pins and came up with about 9/32 of an inch on one and 8/32 on the other.  Is this a WW2 or later CIB?

Thank you

This is a standard government issue CIB manufactured during WW2. So many were produced that they were issued through the Korean war as well until stocks were used up.

Two variations are found, one is like yours, with a small "STERLING" mark in the center. The other has larger font size and the "STERLING" is offset to the right side.
