Hi all,

a thousand pardons if this is the wrong place for this kind of post. I found this the other day at a local antique store. Just wondering what the bucking bronco insignia on the side is. The other side is the well known 3rd army patch.  This is the only picture i have for the time being. Thanks a ton everyone

I don't know his name, just his work.

Maybe some of our members out there on the plains do.

When you said Plains, that tipped me off.

Is this the guy?

Bingo. Ken Hegwood.

He appears to use a plotter cutter to make the stencils. The lettering  consistency is perfect. The lettering in the example above appears to be the font Arial in the rounded version.  This was designed/copyrighted in 1982.  If he  truly painted even half of the number of helmets claimed in the article then there’s a lot of helmets out there.  Hopefully they are all this obvious.  And I hope he identifies them clearly as the tribute pieces they are.
