stratasfan Posted November 24, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2021 Hi, All! Helping someone out with this, and hoping someone can give me an ID on this DUI: Thanks so much in advance! Elizabeth
vintageproductions Posted November 24, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 24, 2021 Hard to see the colors but maybe 121st Cavalry
stratasfan Posted November 25, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted November 25, 2021 I looked on an image search and the 121st Cavalry I'm finding is a gold shield with a red "x" across it with a single Fleur De Lis in the center. I'm plowing through tons of DUI pics, but so far haven't come across this one!
Rakkasan187 Posted November 25, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 25, 2021 Elizabeth, If you do a google search for "Twilight of the Horse Cavalry" (tripod.com) there is an article about some of the Cavalry units.. I can't copy and paste the URL but it is: https://hglanham.tripod.com/uscavalry/uscavalry3.html Scroll through and you will see the history of the 121st Cavalry.. The image shown is 121st Cavalry but I also saw the other crest identified as the same... Best regards Leigh
Boy Howdy Posted November 25, 2021 Share #5 Posted November 25, 2021 I believe this is an obsolete DUI from the NYNG 121st Cavalry Regiment. This design was used as early as 1916. Happy Thanksgiving Liz! https://rochistory.wordpress.com/2021/06/10/military-presence-in-rochester/
stratasfan Posted November 25, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted November 25, 2021 Thanks to all of you! really appreciate it! Makes sense why a basic image search wasn't bringing up the one I was trying for! :) I'll pass this info on! Really appreciate it, All! Happy Thanksgiving!
