zk4298militaria Posted November 18, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2021 I know it’s not much and is not in great condition but it does have the winged A Air Corp stamp. Found it on a peg in a barn in Kentucky. Guy said his father brought it back and used it to cut tobacco stalks.
hink441 Posted November 18, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2021 Nice find!! I believe that winged “A” is a manufacturer mark. D. L. Auld company.

Thanks for the interest! The little research I’ve done on it said it was an Air Corp mark but either way it’s ww2 and that’s what matters.

I'd be interested in your research, as I've never seen an U.S. Army Air Corps symbol like that (which I've seen called a "AAF 'winged-A' logo" but there's no record that I can find of such a symbol)... You are correct with the Winged A being Auld from here in Columbus. Its also interesting that the late style one you picked up, which I have one myself was made by another company here in Columbus, HAR Mfg, if the FSCM/Cage Code on the handle is 19147 like mine.
