More WWII Naval Service Uniform Questions

I just have some more questions about my Great-Grandfather's naval uniform. I have had my questions somewhat answered, but studying these photos, I am still questioning the shirt pattern.

Here is the photo, and here is a shirt that looks like the one in the photo.

There are clear pockets, unlike any of the other chambray work shirts I have seen. Any additional help would be great.

That’s what I’m asking?  There are several variations, mostly concerning pockets and buttons. Buttons were black, white, or light blue. Pockets were either flap or button through. Simply manufacturing variations. All were issued simultaneously
