Every thing looks correct on the outside Trigger, Safety and slide catch.  The barrel should have an H.S. on the link lug (High Standard).  View looking down at slide should have a P proof stamp.  The Barrel Bushing should have concentric rings from machining.

The rear lower part of the grip does not look to have a typical M1911A1 "hump"  Looks more like a M1911...

Pep is correct this has a M1911 mainspring housing not an M1911A1. It should have a smaller checkered A1 housing but other than that it looks correct to me.

so if I do find one and remove the pin at the bottom of the grip, I should be able to replace with correct checked mainspring housing?

It's a little more complicated than that; you'll have to go a bit further than just field stripping.

but is it possible? - If I find a correct housing, A gunsmith should be able to replace?

thx again for the help

Yes the main spring housing can be replaced but you will need the correct style. The book I have states all USS production used a TYPE 3 arched main spring housing  with course checkering having 32  diamonds ( + / - 1 ) on center row

US&S examples, in the way of small parts, have a distinctive barrel bushing as well.

Specifically, they have concentric tooling marks on them.

Could be the pics but I am not seeing the markings I like to see on the lower around the trigger.  One big one I can not see is the inspection initials on the mag release side....
