My first USN M1

Picked this up recently at a local gun show.  Front seam, swivel bail Schlueter M1 stamped with heat lot #438A.  Rim is magnesium so I believe it dates to late 1944 production.  OD7 straps and really salty metal hardware.  The liner is a P55 in really nice shape stamped Firestone 62.  Webbing is undated but marked S.M. C.

I know they were not originally together, but the rust marks on the liner match up with the pot, so this set may have been together since the 1960s. Opinions welcome!

Congrats on your new Navy. They are like Pringle’s however so watch out. Primer is a cool feature. The Kriegsmarine did this during WWII with some of their Shipboard helmets as well.  A dirty old Navy helmet.
