This uniform is attributed (came out of his estate) to Pfc. Rollis F. D-ee-tz, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away in October 2020.  He enlisted into the Army on February 25, 1943 and would serve in the Recon Co., 705th TD Bn for the duration of the war.  At the time of his discharge on December 15, 1945 he was listed as a light truck driver.  His twin brother Roger, who passed away 1992, also served with the 705th.

The 705th TD equipped with M18s landed at Utah Beach on July 18, 1944.  They would fight across Europe participating in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe campaigns.  Additionally, the 705th would be awarded the Distinguished Unit Citaion for their participation in the defense of Bastonge with the 101st Airborne.

WOW!!! What a super tunic, and the Providence is as solid as can be.  Just a great documented piece to a stellar unit. Love the DI's. Thanks for posting. Dave

Great provenance and DIs.

Do you have a close up of them and who is their maker?

Here you go.

I can quite read what it says.  Any ideas?
