Hi all!

Just acquired this nice example of a cutdown service coat. TSgt Benjamin Lutwick served in the 1229th AACS Squadron in the CBI, and looks to have been a truck driver, these AACS squadrons provided control towers and radio stations for air craft. The 129th served in India in 1944, and moved to China in 1945. The this former service coat was tailored into an ike style jacket which is pretty neat, the original gold colored buttons are hidden by a front pleat but remain. Just a cool example of what these tailors could do!

I like it.  The belt is not my preferred style, but it looks ok.  Does it have the pleated back ?

I’ll have to check when I’m back at home

No pleat straight down the back, but does have bi-swing material for the sleeves in the back.
