AlbertBergeon Posted October 15, 2021 #1 Posted October 15, 2021 Dear fellow collectors, I have a very bad feeling about these Flight Surgeon Wings, maybe you could share your thoughts, Take care, Tony
donaldnol Posted October 15, 2021 #2 Posted October 15, 2021 is it die struck and does the pin raises 70%-90% w/a stop, sterling looks correct and the shield. there are quite a few variates to meyer's wings one has to study hard to watch for inconsistency for now in my opinion it's real
rathbonemuseum.com Posted October 15, 2021 #3 Posted October 15, 2021 Based on the appearance of the findings without the flat stop on the hinge, the electroplated attachment to the base, the nature of the "foot" on the hinge, I would say it is restrike.

AlbertBergeon Posted October 15, 2021 Author #6 Posted October 15, 2021 Thanks guys, another great analysis, a huge thank you for the expertise and another Meyer land mine to add to the usual suspects. All the best, Tony
bschwartz Posted October 17, 2021 #8 Posted October 17, 2021 For anyone who doesn't know what the "line up marks" are that donaldnol posted about here's a picture of the back of my 2" Meyer Flight Surgeon. You can see the vertical alignment marks next to the pin and catch. Just posting for additional reference.
