Rayy Posted October 15, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2021 Hi all, A few weeks ago I acquired this original badged 101st airborne m1942 paratrooper jacket. Looking at the wearing it is definitely battle worn. The jacking shows heavy discoloration compared to other m42’s I use to have. Also the feel is different, a little more stiffish and heavier. Makes me think this jacket is CC2 impregnated. There is not really a heavy smell, maybe because it was out in the open for a while? Is there a way to tell for sure it was impregnated? Thanks, Ray
kammo-man Posted October 15, 2021 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2021 Don’t store this jacket on a hanger it will damage it bad. owen
manayunkman Posted October 15, 2021 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2021 Is the material starting to dry rot?
Rayy Posted October 15, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted October 15, 2021 No it is surely not dry rot. It does have some rips and tears. Further condition is good.
eaglerunner88 Posted October 15, 2021 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2021 Nice coat but I don't think it was ever CC2ed. I believe you would feel some "stickiness" and there would most definitely still be a smell. And I know not every single 101st trooper who jumped into Normandy had his jacket reinforced but interesting that this one is not.

Thanks for the answer, it gots a feel like dried up oil and it is more stiff than regular jackets I’ve seen. Your right, I’ve seen several photos of 101st troopers without reinforced jackets during the Normandy invasion. Also non reinforced trousers or complete non reinforced suits.
