richbradley56 Posted October 12, 2021 #1 Posted October 12, 2021 Hello all :-) Awhile back, I came across a photo of a WW1 Victory Medal, which included an Occupation clasp. I, of course, did not save the image at the time & have since fruitlessly searched for any information related to the topic. I assume, if anything, it must have been an unofficial add-on, as it appears nowhere in the regs. Has anyone else come across such a clasp? It does seem odd to me that the Army of Occupation of Germany medal was authorized so many years later. My gt-grandfather would heave been eligible, but he died in 1937 (of course he never wore his medals or ribbons - must be a story there ;-) Many thanks for your attention.
Hermanus Posted October 12, 2021 #2 Posted October 12, 2021 It is an unofficial clasp. I only found this one.
richbradley56 Posted October 12, 2021 Author #3 Posted October 12, 2021 H. Hermanus - Absolutely brilliant! - I figured there had to be something in it - so many boys spent much more time there. Have you seen any others? In any case, I no longer have to question my sanity. My gt-grandfather was only there till April 1919, but many were there much longer. Thank you So much. PS - I'd love to find one, should you come across it.
