cagedfalcon Posted October 11, 2021 #1 Posted October 11, 2021 First tanker. Eventually will find chin strap & comms set up.
LarryM3 Posted October 13, 2021 #2 Posted October 13, 2021 There were no chinstraps issued with the T-56 series of combat vehicle crewman helmets. Larry

Manchu Warrior Posted October 14, 2021 #4 Posted October 14, 2021 I have owned one of these tanker helmets for years and didn't know the proper nomenclature until I read this thread. Thank you!

gunguy45 Posted October 19, 2021 #6 Posted October 19, 2021 I've been looking for a T56-6 for a few years, I foolishly passed on a nearly complete one thinking I'd easily find a better one. Lesson learned.
garrettbragg12 Posted December 3, 2021 #7 Posted December 3, 2021 Love the personalization on this helmet. Having owned a few of these, and actively still using one in a restored M113, the comms on these usually still work with a little TLC. However I think it will be a challenge to locate JUST the comms box and speakers. If you find a source, let me know!

I may have source but he needs a good pic of what it looks like. He buys anything vintage radio.
garrettbragg12 Posted December 19, 2021 #9 Posted December 19, 2021 Let me know what pics you need, I can get them for ya.

cagedfalcon Posted December 19, 2021 Author #11 Posted December 19, 2021 Thanks Wasn't there an earlier version? Or did I read an article wrong. A pic of model # for him too. Thanks

A pic of model # for him too. Thanks The helmet you have would have used the same style as the helmet I posted. Only difference could have potentially been a hexagonal microphone instead of the tear drop shaped. Not sure I saw a model number I’ll check. But it’s a pretty unique looking piece to the helmet so it should stick out to him.
cagedfalcon Posted December 19, 2021 Author #13 Posted December 19, 2021 Understand, but may have set for another model.
