Received for Record Stamp USMC Document

My neighbor had these stamps on his fathers USMC discharge document from WW2. Any idea what they were for?

I believe that they're almost assuredly the 'Received' stamp from his local Town Hall or Administration to formerly record his U.S. Military Service. That's my bet.

Many veterans had their honorable discharges recorded by their county clerk.  These can be a great source for researching a veteran.
