MACV 1965 1966 awarded joint service medal

Hi Scott,

It is always cool when you can get a picture and the story behind the award he or she received. Besides, back in the day most soldiers did not receive joint awards in the Vietnam era.

It's usually awarded to Majors and below as far as officers go...and usually goes to a Technical Sergeant or above for the enlisted ranks (at least in the Air Force)...SrA and below usually get the Joint Service Achievement Medal.  Prior to 2001, it was unusual to see either one because there were far fewer joint billets/TDYs. Of course Sept 11th changed all that.
