Cap pouch/cartridge pouch

Early in the Indian Wars, the army was issueing Civil War cap pouches that were worked over to be used as pistol ammo pouches.

These usually had the familiar US in an oval embossed on the outer flap.

Could someone please tell me the size of this emblem?

Thanks a lot!
