MinorInHistory Posted September 29, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2021 Hello, I got this helmet today, which is a rear seal swivel bail with sewn chinstraps. I was wondering about the captains insignia on the front though, and if it was original. Could anyone help me on that? The reason I was questioning it was that it came with a British Brodie that looked like it had some modern hardware (see chinstraps). Both helmets also had some guy’s name written in them, which makes me suspect reenacting may have been the case. Anyway, Thanks!
ludwigh1980 Posted September 29, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 29, 2021 That appears to be the correct style of chinstrap (with the springs) for this period of British helmet.

I guess I thought it was too new looking or something. I think there was also a Phillips head on the dome, which I don’t believe is original. Thanks!
