11thcavsniper Posted September 29, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2021 I just picked this one up from a local ad on a For Sale web sight. It's a McCord 729A Navy Battleship grey Helmet with a fixed bail and original straps. The liner is a Westinghouse with some damage as seen. The liner has lots of graffiti on it that looks original to that time frame. It has a date of Feb 70 to May 72 . Like them or not it is some of our History. ludwigh1980 Posted September 29, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 29, 2021 Great find. Actually hippy helmets (with good original period artwork) are now bringing substantial amounts in the online auction world. The Bud Man is very cool.
Paddyd00 Posted October 7, 2021 Share #4 Posted October 7, 2021 Very cool. American History Indeed. I think this helmet was on the USS DOOBIE (to use the lingo of the times LOL) Z
644td Posted October 7, 2021 Share #5 Posted October 7, 2021 Outstanding find. Some my disagree with me but I have always Liked Hippie helmets and liners. I do not agree with all of politics associated with them but I appreciate the history of the item and have owned a few in the past. marty
