New Office - New Tour!

Another move means a lot of headaches but it also presents opportunities with respect to the collection.  I clear out all my frames for ease of traveling so it forces me to set up new displays and consciously rotate items.  Of course there’s some favorites that always seem to stay out, but some new acquisitions got into displays and some old ones got rotated in/ changed up in presentation.

This is a macro tour of the new office, complete with uninviting lighting.  Happy to take better photos/ discuss anything that catches the eye.  Hope you enjoy.

Excellent groupings. If you are still in Leavenworth, I'd love to visit. Coffee or beer, I'll buy.

They let you have beer in Leavenworth?  Things have clearly gotten lax everywhere.  🤣

Seriously though, fantastic layout, and really enjoy seeing all of the 1st ID items.

Thank you for sharing.

Some where near here. Come on over!

I met a buddy just at the base once but have never been inside. Another buddy did low-security time there.

Don't they have a museum there? Can anyone get me in? The base side - not the prison side!

Thanks for the kind words, all.  Yes, just arrived at Leavenworth - there's a museum on post, believe its the Frontier Museum, or named something similar.  There's also a gift shop of things made by prisoners at the USDB.

Fantastic displays! The respect you've paid those servicemembers is really great. There are a few collectors on this forum that live near Leavenworth including myself. I live East of there and go that way a few times a month. I collect anything related to the Quartermaster Corps. Thank you for sharing your collections. Oh, check out Overlooked Antiques at 406 Delaware St. Jason Claire is the shop owner and he deals in pretty much anything military related (US and world wide). I think you'd enjoy seeing his store. Shoot me a PM if you have questions about the area or Kansas City in general. I can direct you to the best barbecue joints around!
