Coldfusion Posted September 22, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2021 Hi there guys, I do hope you're all well? My family and I are all laid up with COVID, we are down hard, but still sucking air, so all good boys and girls! 👍👍👍 I've had to research this Helmet as I only own WW2 and Korean War period M1's, until now, so have never seen this type of small heat stamp or the marks on the liner before. I think the shell is a Parish Division of the Dana Corporation as the heat stamp is 4 digits and very small. The liner after hours of looking at the same image, the Firestone 'F' jumped out at me and then the number 22... I have absolutely no idea of the date this type of liner was manufactured, so would greatly appreciate any details please? I got it for an amazing price (Here in Britain anyway) for £60, when they are usually over £200 here, so I'm well pleased with it! Also I would like to know what is printed in the centre of the HBT webbing straps... obviously I can see the first 2 letters are US and I think the last letter is a D but would love to know what it means please? Also purchased this thermal cap that supposed to be 1960's 70's US... it was only £3 so it didn't matter, it was worth a try just in case it is a US military item? Many thanks guys n gals, I'd really appreciate your help please? Many thanks ands my very kindest regards, Ian (Tagg)

ArchangelDM Posted September 22, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2021 http://www.academycostumes.co.uk US ACAD was used on all of the SPR costumes, it was actually filmed in Ireland for the DDay scene then the rest at Hatfield Aerodrome ! In 1997-98 Then Tom H and Spielberg revisited Hatfield for band of Brothers in 2000 - Dean
The Rooster Posted September 22, 2021 Share #4 Posted September 22, 2021 Ian, Thats awesome. And a private Ryan liner too. Thats unique in and of itself! Love the matches and smokes and grenade pin. Nice touch Brother. Hey Man, that looks like a rather rare 1963 cover ? Yes? Awesome ! Great info on the liner Dean ! Rest up and recover to you and your family Ian! BEAR Posted September 22, 2021 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2021 Ian, Best for you and your family and get well soon. If you are looking for the date on your helmet look on the webbing that your sweat band is attached. Keep in mind, it may be unreadable due to the conditions it was used under. I have included photos of one of my Firestone liners. Hope this helps. BEAR Hi
