manayunkman Posted September 20, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2021 Like the title says I’m trying to figure this out. Included is a picture of the liner. How early is this liner? Any help is appreciated and I thank you for your help.
fight Posted September 20, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2021 Manufacturers mark looks like Inland. Nice early war liner with the rayon (white webbing). I forget dates they stopped using rayon but I believe it was early 1943 or before. Also Inland did not produce liners through out the war, only early war. I also see the chinstrap is riveted to the liner, and the square buckle, another early war feature. Alec

fight Posted September 20, 2021 Share #4 Posted September 20, 2021 Here's the info from the M1 Helmet by Oosterman, these were produced from mid 1942 to call of 1942. Alec
Ray42 Posted September 21, 2021 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2021 That’s a very nice early one, only a handful of early manufacturers had snap in headbands and folded over nap straps. Those are very desirable features. I agree it was probably made mid 1942.
