Militia Branch Color

I'm not sure exactly on which forum to post this, so you may it this request a few different places.

 

I'm looking to confirm that black is, or was, either the official or accepted branch color for Militia.  I've read several places that it was... but have not been able to confirm it as truth.  Any assistance would be most greatly appreciated.

Militias are not part of the Army or regulated by the federal government. They are state or locally organized and in some cases really just a social club so they pretty much do what ever they want. Make sure militia is the proper name for what you are looking for, the term militia hasn't been used much in the last 150 years except by right wing wackos running around in the woods.
