gwb123 Posted September 16, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2021 Just an FYI so that people know these are out there... https://shop.theworldwar.org/collections/wwi-replicas/products/world-war-supply-replica-weatheredbrodiehelmet-106927 Since they are doing these, I was going to say I hoped they would also make copies of the "machine gunner camouflage" that Walt Disney made as souvenirs for departing troops. Then again... https://shop.theworldwar.org/collections/wwi-replicas/products/german-m1916-stalhelm-helmet
Bugme Posted September 17, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2021 Actually, these are kind of neat! They are complete reproductions right down to the newly made pots, liners and chinstraps. I have no problem with this type of Memorial helmets.

gwb123 Posted September 17, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted September 17, 2021 I am not sure anyone knows for sure. There are written descriptions that they were a German machine gunner's camouflage pattern. Unless he kept one for himself we will probably never know for sure. But it would be interesting if one popped up. They probably all came home with the story "I captured this..." it would now be awkward to tell "....Granddad bought this at the train station as he was shipping back from some skinny guy with a mustache.
