Pre-WW2 Engineer Wing ?

That is a nice looking little wing.  Sorry I cannot help identify what it may have been for, whether just a sweetheart piece or to commemorate someone who did a lot of flying for the Army Corps of Engineers.  I am not aware of the Corps having an aviation section but they might have.

Maybe it is supposed to be a play on "aviation engineers" or something along those lines. I have an engineer castle with parachute wings affixed that came from a 307th Engineer veteran.

I did some browsing on ebay and found examples of patches for the USMC 1st MAC Aviation Engineers.  The patch has a winged castle, so possibly this wing is associated with them?  I don't know if the gold color of the pin would indicate Navy/USMC vs. Army or not.  Attached is an example of such a patch currently on ebay.
