Hi all .

I was at the Rose Bowl flea market yesterday ,Feb 8th , and came across Some Field pack covers in a test sample camouflage pattern .

This is the SNOW MARPAT USMC VALIDATION Test 2007 pattern .

The guy I got the covers from was selling a whole load of boots and was using the covers to carry the boots around in !!!

From a distance the camouflage looked like a big plastic bag with the print half worn off .

As I got closer the true pattern began to emerge .

He was laughing at me when I wanted to buy the covers , but when I saw the test labels I warmed up inside .

I was told he has seen the parkas and over-trousers and we will see next month !!

This pattern is with background with 3 shades of grey in the usual pixled shapes .

It looks great to me .

I will post it tomorrow as my camera is on the blink today .

Has anybody else seen or heard of this pattern?

The covers were manufactured by Standard MFG ,Co W911Qy-06-D-0010

Thanks and I will post the images tomorrow

American Graffiti

Hi Owen,

it's weird, the picture comes out like an inverted negative. Nice example of a new camo. Have you ever seen the swedish camo used once by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton I think, v. nice. Sometimes nice when used out of it's original context, no?

Cheers, AG

I know that one , it is nice .

Stone Island circa 1990 ring a bell

I saw Jimbo yesterday

Ah! Stone Island didn't go, but went to something called Manchester in the Park or something in 1990ish.

Anyway, back to camo children......

there is a few of these prototype prints about, this is the other a non digital one. I have a strong feeling the digital one was made by Hyperstealth for the USMC.

Guys take a ticket and get in line .

Like I said this pattern is new to me only yesterday .

You all know I am a vintage nutcase and have not been following the newer stuff to close , shame on me .

My knowledge stopped when I got my Urban Tracks .

Guess I have some homework to do .

Lets see what happens .

The guy I got this from is a used clothing dealer , he has No clue to military and laughed when I took the cover .

Lets hope he wants to make a dime and hunts it for me .

If he casually picked this up there has got to be more .

I will keep you all posted .

PS

Thanks for posting the parka .B20

Also for the fantastic USMC photo .

The handpainted set looks like the mark 1 Mitchell pattern .

I can see twigs and leaves .
