USMC 1944 map case, named L.T. R.O. Bonisteel. Can anyone find any info about him

I had this mao case for a while but I can’t find any info about the name on the back of it. It’s has L.T. R.O. Bonisteel written on the back of it. If anyone can find out more about this guy it will be appreciated.

Looks like it would be from Lt. Roscoe O Bonisteel Jr., a 1st Lt. in Co. B /  6th Tank Bn / 6th Marine Division. WIA May 21st, 1945 on Okinawa.

Wow that must have a interesting story to it. I actually found this map case at a thrift store for 4$. Can you try to send a link to where you found this
