BlueRidgeMtns Posted September 3, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2021 Helmet belonged to Ward K. Knapp. He was from Potter County, PA. He served with Company A, 315th Machine Gun Battalion, 80th Division. Although the gun sight was originally attributed to Artillery Battalions it appears more and more that the gun sight insignia belongs to the Machine Gun Battalions. BlueRidgeMtns Posted September 3, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted September 3, 2021 Thanks. Unfortunately, no liner. The name is printed on the paper tag in the crown.

BlueRidgeMtns Posted September 4, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted September 4, 2021 Thanks for the comments. Great country up north. But I'm hearing the deer are few and far in between.
