and always won too.

I'd completely forgotten, but I believe I had the .45 as well.

 

I also had a miniature Marx .45 that was about 4 inches long with a ridiculous gold finish on it. The gold finish scratched very easily.  I have no idea where it finally ended up.

Yep, Marx was in the inventory, .45, Thompson, & a .50 Cal too, as was our Man From Uncle spy guns & gear, Hasbro, Topper, etc.

I got one of these for Christmas 1965 (I think) - Very Cool!!

Don't forget this classic. This is mine from 1970 or so. have the Fort Apache too. I have tons of extra stuff I got from kids that got too old for theirs as well. Kinda violent though, as it includes casualties and such. But pretty detailed for the day as a toy.

Same here but my set is from the earlier 1960's, it's buried in a closet with the other toys and wargames.

Anyone remember the impressive Marx "Golden Guns" that came out in the mid 1960s? This is the Luger and holster which I still have. It is pot metal and fired caps when releasing the spring-loaded toggle!

 

Marx included a little M1911A1 in the Golden Guns collection.

 

They made Golden Guns rifles too. I had the M1903, but I still have the Kentucky rifle.

 

Marx included this nice cap pistol with their Civil War playset. It was a break-open version and a Greenie stick-em cap would be stuck on the back of the "cylinder and fired by snapping back the hammer.

 

I'm pretty sure this Pirate pistol was a Marx creation too.

 

I still have my Marx Luger too. I have two Marx M1911A1s (One is damaged from a dog chewing the trigger guard) but I haven't photographed them yet.

Though the toy rifle is long gone, I still have the magazine and some ammo for the Johnny Eagle (?) M14 !

The 1966 Sears Wish Book was my favorite as a kid....I would pour over the weapons selections....loved the belt fed machine gun but elected for the Camo Tommy gun instead.  To my 5 year old mind it allowed more versatility when playing....

Forgot about this although it sits on my desk (the Marx one, not the big Remington, it's in the safe).  Also have the game marker somewhere here.  You can actually read the serial number on the Marx M1911A1 which, if I remember correctly, makes it a Remington as well.

I remember that very same 1966 Sears Battlefield ad.  It’s amazing how that ad and photo has stuck in my mind since 1966 and I remember how badly I wanted that set at the time.  I also realized then that the price $9.89 and $4.99 was so out-of-bounds for an 8 year old kid from a poor family, that staring at those photos was as close as I’d ever get to owning that set.  Fast forward 55 years and it’s funny how the kid in many of us on this forum is still alive and well.  I’ve got several Garands and carbines, .45’s and a bunch of other very nice WWII collectibles.  But you know what…right now, there is a local on-line auction, and in that auction is the actual hat from a 1960’s Hollywood western, worn by an actor that you would all recognize.  The bid price has currently risen to the point where I’ve told myself that I need to let it go.  But, after seeing that 1966 Sears ad, I might have to reconsider that decision.  Auction ends in a week…hmmm…thanks for posting that 1966 Sears ad!

I didn't either, I'm too young for Marx but I came across the photo a couple days ago and googled something like "vintage 1960s toy German helmet" and found this one that sold on eBay so when this thread was bumped back up it was fresh in my mind.
