Oh, goody-gumdrops! I get to make the first post?!?!?!

My as-issued K-Pot (1989-1999-ish?). Our CIF was somewhat ' lackadaisical'.

I always found this user warranty card amusing.

Is anyone brave enough to ask me why I kept a pair of OD green Army-issued undies under the suspension webbing?

Manchu Warrior

I was wondering how you were able to take the Kevlar home with you that was until I read what you said. I actually laughed when I read it. Because I remember years ago when I couldn't get checked off just because I was missing a balaclava. When they pointed out what I was missing I couldn't even pronounce the word much less remember what it actually was or if it was even ever issued to me. It was one of the old OD Green type that attached under the chin with Velcro, and I know for sure that up to that point I had never worn one. When they actually showed me one I argued that I shouldn't have to turn it in because it would have touched my head. And therefore like patrol caps, polypros, t-shirts, uniforms boots etc. it needn't be turned in. Nope, I had to make my way down to a surplus store in Hinesville, GA and buy me one before they would check me off. The reason why I even commented was because this is one aspect of the forum that I really enjoy. What I'm saying is that when I read something on the forum that may seem really insignificant and yet it takes me back to long forgotten memory of when I served in the US Army. As if its a bonus for being on the forum. By the way nice helmet!
