Does anyone know what is, goes on, value, and maybe read the writing on the case lid? I'm assuming it is a WW2 Japanese gunsight of some type. ottodog8 Posted August 23, 2021 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2021 It is a Model 96 (1936) telescopic Sight for the Type 92 Heavy Machine Gun. The characters running down the center of the case lid are 15609, corresponding to the sight, which I assume is the serial number of the gun the sight was matched to.
