Some of my m1 helmets found by me in the ardennes.

1.battledamage with 3 entryholes

2.battledamage also with 3 entryholes

3.fixed bails no damage

4. DSC recipient/KIA liner

Very somber looking lids Wow!

Did you dig these up? If so were they near the surface?

What else have you found ?

Was the liner in a steel pot?

I got this one from the Bulge also. Located at the Crossroads where Engineers used an incredible delaying action. This one shows impact indentation of either Mortar or Artillery

Yes, found by me. The average depth I find them is around 1 meter deep in foxholes. I can post some more relics of there is intrest in that.

Liner was found alone, without steel pot.

Yes please ! If you would be so kind Sir, please share more relics and please tell us of the circumstances, how you go about finding them. What else have you found?

 

It looks like those helmets were being worn at the time and maybe the medics or other members of the Mens unit, threw them in the holes to

get rid of them before they moved out ?

 

Fascinating and a sober reminder.
