The Rooster Posted September 3, 2021 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2021 Very somber looking lids Wow! Did you dig these up? If so were they near the surface? What else have you found ? Was the liner in a steel pot? Very interesting. Thank you!
Bugme Posted September 3, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 3, 2021 I got this one from the Bulge also. Located at the Crossroads where Engineers used an incredible delaying action. This one shows impact indentation of either Mortar or Artillery

Ardennes_Battlefields Posted September 3, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted September 3, 2021 Yes, found by me. The average depth I find them is around 1 meter deep in foxholes. I can post some more relics of there is intrest in that. Liner was found alone, without steel pot. Nice one bugme! I am not allowed to say the name, although I am allowed to share his story and picture!
The Rooster Posted September 4, 2021 Share #6 Posted September 4, 2021 Yes please ! If you would be so kind Sir, please share more relics and please tell us of the circumstances, how you go about finding them. What else have you found? It looks like those helmets were being worn at the time and maybe the medics or other members of the Mens unit, threw them in the holes to get rid of them before they moved out ? Fascinating and a sober reminder. Thank you for sharing this. Scott, awesome lid. Ouch !!
