USCapturephotos Posted August 15, 2021 #26 Posted August 15, 2021 What an amazing group! I know a still living WW2 vet who shipped his souvenirs back in a 10 and 1 ration box. I also love the response from the vets wife....classic. Can I ask where you saw that? Was it in a letter from the wife? Hope you got that as well. Seems like the 3rd armored loved to sign flags as I have one and have seen several others. Any idea what you’ll do with everything? Paul
Fixbayonets! Posted August 15, 2021 Author #28 Posted August 15, 2021 Thanks again, Paul - unfortunately I do not have the letter with the jewelry response from his wife. That was told by the veterans son, he remembered his Father saying that abut the bring back box. I am going to keep this lot in my collection. One day I hope to have a display case dedicated to just bring backs, this lot would look great displayed with the ration box on the bottom shelf.
everforward Posted August 15, 2021 #30 Posted August 15, 2021 Very cool. The soldier certainly had an eye for a lot of great items. What a haul..!

The only thing I am going to part with are some of the helmet decals, I don't think I need 200 of them. That’s awesome! definitely a time capsule that deserves to be kept as is.
M24 Chaffee Posted August 16, 2021 #33 Posted August 16, 2021 Great collection of tanker bring backs! Frank
manayunkman Posted August 16, 2021 #34 Posted August 16, 2021 What everyone has said. Can you post close ups of the jacket ?
Fixbayonets! Posted August 16, 2021 Author #35 Posted August 16, 2021 Close up photos of the tunic as requested.......
Fixbayonets! Posted August 16, 2021 Author #38 Posted August 16, 2021 I take it since he is such a senior NCO he opted to wear an Officers bullion eagle.
Fixbayonets! Posted August 16, 2021 Author #40 Posted August 16, 2021 A well worn document of some sort found in the pocket.
GLCC74 Posted August 16, 2021 #42 Posted August 16, 2021 How much are you selling the helmet decals for?
sundance Posted August 16, 2021 #44 Posted August 16, 2021 Great haul. What do you believe the flag-like item with the swastika and the fringe? I had one offered to me and it has that same orangish rather than red field. The person offering it to me thought it was a podium banner. What do you believe it is?
Fixbayonets! Posted August 16, 2021 Author #45 Posted August 16, 2021 I agree, I think it is a podium banner.
Hookemhorns88 Posted August 17, 2021 #46 Posted August 17, 2021 Quality and quantity! Nice set of goods there. You have the makings of a great mannequin set-up of a German soldier.
Hs132 Posted August 22, 2021 #47 Posted August 22, 2021 All so desirable, well done. The stack of helmet decals are unheard of. Best, Bill
Tom Kibler Posted September 9, 2021 #50 Posted September 9, 2021 Fantastic!!! What a wonderful haul. Reminds me of what my dad would bring home in the 1970’s & 1980’s! Thanks 🙏🏻
