What an amazing group! I know a still living WW2 vet who shipped his souvenirs back in a 10 and 1 ration box. I also love the response from the vets wife....classic. Can I ask where you saw that? Was it in a letter from the wife? Hope you got that as well. Seems like the 3rd armored loved to sign flags as I have one and have seen several others. Any idea what you’ll do with everything?

Thanks again,

Paul - unfortunately I do not have the letter with the jewelry response from his wife.  That was told by the veterans son, he remembered his Father saying that abut the bring back box.  I am going to keep this lot in my collection.  One day I hope to have a display case dedicated to just bring backs, this lot would look great displayed with the ration box on the bottom shelf.

Very cool. The soldier certainly had an eye for a lot of great items. What a haul..!

Thanks for the positive comments!

Yes, I am keeping the lot together.  The only thing I am going to part with are some of the helmet decals, I don't think I need 200 of them.

That’s awesome! definitely a time capsule that deserves to be kept as is.

I take it since he is such a senior NCO he opted to wear an Officers bullion eagle.

A well worn document of some sort found in the pocket.

Great haul. What do you believe the flag-like item with the swastika and the fringe? I had one offered to me and it has that same orangish rather than red field. The person offering it to me thought it was a podium banner. What do you believe it is?

Quality and quantity!  Nice set of goods there.  You have the makings of a great mannequin set-up of a German soldier.

All so desirable, well done. The stack of helmet decals are unheard of. Best, Bill

Fantastic!!!  What a wonderful haul.  Reminds me of what my dad would bring home in the 1970’s & 1980’s!   Thanks 🙏🏻
