Manchu Warrior Posted August 13, 2021 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2021 I found this New Jersey State Good Conduct Medal today in a box of junk jewelry at a flea market. It is engraved with the soldier's name around the rim, W.T. Sofield A Co. Would like to know if it actually dates to 1871 and how rare would it be? mars&thunder Posted August 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2021 I wouldn't call them extremely rare but certainly not easy to fond. NJ sent a battalion to the 100th anniversary of the battle of Yorktown celebrations (other sates sent troops also) and NJ gave medals to all the soldiers that participated. I paid $15.00 for the medal and I appreciate the information. Thanks!
