Could someone help me to identify this US Air Force badge ?

Is the "L" related to Liaison Pilot ?

 

It looks like silver made but I am not sure... "NS MEYER INC / New York" on the back side.

 

What era ?

Yes, a liaison pilot wing. This one looks to be a Meyer restrike. The Meyer dies have been around since WWII and they have been re-struck forever. The finish on the back of this wing leads me to believe this one isn't very old. Open the pin, does it open to 90 degrees or 45?
