reapp Posted August 5, 2021 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2021 Hello Board, Not being a collector of these things, I was hoping someone might could help ID this unit insignia? It is from a WWII era helmet liner. Thanks in advance for your time!
Ray42 Posted August 5, 2021 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2021 That appears to be an easy one. The diamond is for the 5th infantry division which had the 10th Inf regiment. So a good guess is 10th inf reg. I think it is safe to assume that the paint was done sometime post war such as occupation period since the helmet is painted white. patches Posted August 14, 2021 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2021 Yes as Ray stated, one worn by cadre when the division was a training division at Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania during the Korean War period, these White liner ones worn within the division by members of training committees, drill sergeants and or range instructors.
