patrick_usmc Posted August 4, 2021 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2021 The renowned author and Naval historian James Hornfischer passed away on June 2, 2021. I'm sure many people on the forum have enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy and be enriched by his work. May he rest in peace, and prayers for his family. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/austin-tx/james-hornfischer-10217895

Kurt Barickman Posted August 13, 2021 Share #6 Posted August 13, 2021 So sad to see people pass away so young and still in the game actively publishing and researching. RIP, Kurt
collectsmedals Posted August 13, 2021 Share #7 Posted August 13, 2021 I loved Neptune's Inferno, greatest account of the naval battle off Guadalcanal I have ever read. He really made it personal while still showing the big picture of the battle. Sad to hear of his passing.
