WW2 era Women's Ambulance Safety Patrol patch

 

A civilian type program during the war. This patch has been always identified as the WASP pilots patch for the women who flew aircraft in WW2 but it isn't.

I believe that this is a Women Airforce Service Pilots patch, but I’m not sure of the era.

It is most definitely not a WASP - Women's pilot patch.
