Going thru some more of my deceased Uncle's things . Here are some pocket patches I'm pretty sure he wore on his fatigues. He served in the Air Force from 42 - 65. Curious about under what circumstances these were worn.

Thanks!

Kim

Thanks yokota57, that certainly fits with one of his name tags I found!

Search: 43d Strategic Wing//43d Bomb Wing (Anderson AFB, Guam. B-52/KC-135).

Additional Search: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ '54-'60 B-47. Carswell AFB, TX '60-'70 B-58. If you have his dates of service you can pinpoint the AFB.

I just noticed he was out by 1965. That would eliminate Anderson AFB, Guam. Lesson to myself: Read carefully and slowly the first time!

He may have been briefly at Little Rock AFB, AR 1964-1965 due to the 43d BW moving from Carswell AFB.

It's all coming together!  Here's another patch - 43rd Hustler, that came from my Uncle as well - same unit I would suppose.

Thanks for your help in figuring this out for me.

What a sharp looking plane!

It just screams speed!

Speedy indeed! Of course they are both wearing the "43d Bomb Wing (Medium) B-58 World Speed Records" patch on their left shoulder.

That's a good looking patch. Thanks for showing it.

I didn't notice before that they were wearing the speed record patch as a shoulder patch.
