scarce Heavy Patrol Squadron Ten patch

According to my research, this squadron only lasted a little over a year. Does anyone else have one of these, or run across one in their travels? Any additonal info on their activities during this period would be greatly appreciated as well. It's a killer design.

I've seen this one before and always thought it was their Alaskan/Arctic post-war deployment patch from the late 1940's

They became VP-20 in the Korean War era

When I researched this patch a while back I stashed this period reference I found for Heavy Patrol Squadron Ten

Naval Aviation News May 1947

And I'm certain that you've seen this.  When in doubt about Naval Aviation histories, numerology and lineage, always seek out DANAS

Here's the entry for VP-HL-10 1946-1948 under (3rd) VP-20 in DANAS Vol. 2

Now we need a photo of an airframe with this insignia or the patch being worn in use to be certain.  Until then, this is just where the facts lead me for now.
