 "Greetings & Salutations!" In 1919 Walter Rieb, manufacturer and importer of Army & Navy equipment machine embroidery had published this eight-page brohure titled: "ARMY CHEVRONS LIST NUMBER 11." Perhaps this is the first time some collectors of rates and chevrons will have seen this? In 1920 they adopted a different type of chevrons for the Army of the United States, one might ask, what became of the newly created 1902-1919 chevrons? Perhaps Lieutenant Colonel William K. Emerson who wrote "CHEVRONS" in 1983 might know or someone else? Anyway, without further ado, here these scans are, hopefully the information will prove useful to some? Sarge Booker of Tujunga, California ([email protected])
