Quest Master Posted July 28, 2021 #1 Posted July 28, 2021 I'm looking for reference on how the WWII British 6-pound shells (not casings) were marked differently from the U.S. 57mm counterpart. Both shells and casing were interchangeable (British QF 6-pound 7 cwt and U.S. 57mm M1 AT gun). I'm looking for color plates, TM images, or reference photos of the AP, APC, HE or any others. I have the reference for the U.S. rounds, only looking for the WWII British ones to see the difference. Thank you.
Charlie Flick Posted July 28, 2021 #2 Posted July 28, 2021 As your question is directed at the British 6 pounder markings you might want to pose the question to the guys over at the British Ordnance Collectors Forum at http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/forum.php They have many people quite knowledgeable on the British and Commonwealth ammunition and can probably answer your question easily.
