yokota57 Posted July 30, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted July 30, 2021 Great effort on your behalf in pinpointing this particular "Lower Four". That would date this lighter to the 1957-1965 period. I appreciate the input!
ottodog8 Posted July 30, 2021 Share #5 Posted July 30, 2021 Did the First Cav even have helicopter assets prior to 1965?
yokota57 Posted July 30, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted July 30, 2021 Great question ottodog8! Another question: When was the 228th ASH Bn established? From what I can tell: 1965. Ist Cav was in RVN roughly1965-1972. Did they have a "Lower Four" in Vietnam? I suspect the lighter is from '65 or later. My previous "guesstimate" of back to 1957 would be to early. My focus has always been USAF/USN/USMC aviation. Let's hear from the Army Aviation experts! YK57
yokota57 Posted July 30, 2021 Author Share #7 Posted July 30, 2021 Thanks to Matt-M we know the 1st Cav had a "Lower Four" at Yongsan, Korea. Did they also have one at Ft. Benning just prior to Vietnam? YK57
