Does anyone know what this item is? It measures approximately 11.5” in diameter x 3” high. I can’t quite make out the manufacturer’s name but it appears to be Rawley or Sawley Co. and is dated 1942. I believe it may be a cover for something. Does anyone know what it is? Any help is appreciated!

I may be wrong but it looks like the shallow collapsable wash basin for washing and shaving.
Neat item that is often overlooked when talking about things the GI carried.

could be a wash basin...my first thought was a headlight cover for a CCKW, but no drawstring

After comparing others online, it is a wash basin. Thanks for the info!
