It just looks too good but I hate to sell a new old stock WWII hat as a repro so thought I better put it up here first. If you need other detail shots to tell let me know

Definitely not a repro.  A good WWII era private purchase Army EM cap.

There are a few moth holes, I think, along the top right rim, and that looks old, as well as the inside . . . .the materials look old and not like what you get these days. Take a look at that bow on the inside rim. That's not new ribbon or ribbon wear. It does look in amazing shape! Someone is going to be happy to display that!

Original, no one makes a modern repro that's cheaper than what these are worth ($20-35). They made thousands of these, they weren't worn in combat, and most were only worn a few times (or when coming home) so many survived in excellent shape.

I have a similar one from an AAF vet in a WWII era shipping box. It was posted home to his mother. For whatever reason he sent his home.

FYI, going prices on these have remained stable for about the last 25 yrs.
