This is very neat, can you scan the image in the top left? It appears he's holding 3/5's battle flag. Would like to see what that looked like back then if that's what it is.

It’s actually a newspaper image, but sure I’ll post a scan just as soon as I can dig it out.

I'd be interested as well if there's a caption. If eyes serve me right, looks like they are posing in uniforms pre-French fourragère and the colors don't have any battle streamers on them yet! 

 

3/5 is an absolutely legendary unit. I could write pages about them.

I found the newspaper article.  It’s from the New York Times Sunday, December 7, 1919.  Sorry it’s such in poor condition

Thanks! I was in in 3/5 so it holds a special place for me ... somewhere. 

 

Never thought til now if the colors in regimental HQ are the same ones he's holding. Amazing historical find, being able to read his own words about those events.

 

Here's the 3/5 insignia today:
