Ronald Posted July 21, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2021 Does anyone else have one of these? These were sold by Ray Willas as NOS that was purchased at a naval auction years ago. Other than that story, I have never seen proof one way or the other as to originality. They are some differences that don't match known original shoulder holsters. I have been told the stock number does not match known US Military Property Numbers. Either way, I have not seen many for sale.
OLDNAVYNUKESPOOK Posted July 21, 2021 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2021 Was Ray Willas the guy who also had the NOS Gen. Officer's belts, holster's, etc.?
Ronald Posted July 21, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted July 21, 2021 I am not sure but he did sell boxes for 1911A1's and I believe those were reproductions. I have only seen 3 or 4 of these boxed holsters so other than comparing to know originals, I don't think there is proof one way or the other concerning originality. I have an original and both are made of very thin leather. The age of an original is very difficult to duplicate so that is a guide.
