Hello all,

I am just getting into collecting US uniforms and recently purchased a set of uniforms that belonged to (as the name labels say E.M. Talbott (Dr.)  (Edward M. Talbott)

The lot came with his

1895 undress frock coat?

1902 Dress uniform

Mess dress uniform

Khaki uniform

I think this is his letter to the US Army Surgeon General about his career.

https://collections.nlm.nih.gov/bookviewer?PID=nlm:nlmuid-2933044RX143-leaf

I think that is a photo of him I found as a new LT and a post ww1 LTC.

Can anybody help with the ribbons? I think they are

#1 not sure

#2 Mexican Border Service

#3 WW1 victory

#4 Maybe army of occupation of Germany medal???

I Hate Moths

They are some nice looking uniforms. Good luck with your research. I can't wait to hear what you find.

You can be sure that the last ribbon is not the Army of Occupation of Germany medal as the medal was not authorized until November, 1941. There is an association of military surgeons medal which this ribbon may be.

Good luck on the research.

Shown in photo not completely accurate - No Philippine is listed in the Rolls, He received a Mexico Service Medal No. 223, and Cuban Pacification Medal No. 51 - This is according to the available medal rolls

Interesting. I wonder if it is a case of he thought he was authorized to wear as he was in the Philippines, or an administrative error.

As I am rather new to conducting research on veterans. How does one find these rolls?
